Research Projects in Meteoritics and Planetary Science
The ATTARIK Foundation research team has been specializing in meteoritics and planetary science since 2001. Numerous research topics are developed, primarily through doctoral dissertations:

Classification and Registration: Systematic classification and reporting of meteorites to the Nomenclature Committee of the Meteoritical Society.
Observed Meteorite Falls in Morocco: Our team has studied and declared every Moroccan fall since the Benguerir meteorite in 2004.

Martian Meteorites: The most famous Martian meteorite fall of the century, "Tissint," was first studied by ATTARIK Foundation researchers (Chennaoui Aoudjehane et al., published in the prestigious journal Science in 2012).
Eucrites: Tirhert, an atypical eucrite that fell in Morocco, is currently being studied by Taha Shisseh (Board of Directors, ATTARIK Foundation).

Fusion Crusts and Micrometeorites: Research on meteorite fusion crusts, micrometeorites, and microspherules is currently led by Larbi Zennouri.

Meteorite Density and Flux: A doctoral study on the density and flux of meteorites in the North African desert by Maria Aboulahris.

Al Haggounia 001: An in-depth study of this enstatite chondrite by Mohamed Hassan Leili.

Impact Craters in Morocco: Doctoral theses successfully defended by Souad Chaabout (2015) and Houda El Kerni (2019) regarding the systematic search for circular structures and Agoudal, the first and only officially recognized impact structure in Morocco.

Impact Craters in Mauritania: Prospecting circular structures in Mauritania to identify new potential impact craters, led by doctoral candidate Elycheikh Ould Mohamed Naviee.
